Grimoires / Jupiter & Sun
Jupiter & Sun
Money, career, favour, and the courts.
The free operation, Money Drawing, runs on any edition of the station, including the free one.
Jupiter and the Sun are the two royal planets, and between them they govern most of what is asked of magic in working life: money, trade, office, the law, standing, and the goodwill of the powerful. The Key of Solomon gives the days and hours of Jupiter to "obtaining honours, acquiring riches; contracting friendships", and those of the Sun to "temporal wealth, hope, gain, fortune, divination, the favour of princes".
Jupiter is the greater fortune. His day is Thursday, his colours royal blue and violet, his metal tin, his incense cedar and saffron. Agrippa gives him the square of four, with Iophiel as his intelligence and Hismael as his spirit. The Heptameron sets Sachiel over his day, the Arbatel names Bethor, who "raiseth to very great dignities", and the divine name of his sphere is El.
The Sun is the king of the planets. His day is Sunday, his colours gold and orange, his metal gold, his incense frankincense and cinnamon. His square is of six, with Nachiel as intelligence and Sorath as spirit. Michael rules his day, Och is his Olympic spirit, and his divine name is YHVH Eloah va-Daath.
Choose Jupiter for increase: money, trade, luck, lawsuits, and anything owed to you. Choose the Sun for the person: favour with the great, a post, a name. When a work touches both, run it under the planet that rules the matter and give the other planet's colour to the inner frame.
On the station, Jupiter's work runs in blue frames with Air, the Sun's in gold with Fire, with Pre-Hypnosis whenever the witness is another person. Begin while the Moon waxes, and keep the operation log: these planets answer through offers, letters, meetings, and turns of luck, and you will want to see them.
