Grimoires / Moon
Moon
Dreams, sight, the home, and the night road.
The free operation, True Dreams, runs on any edition of the station, including the free one.
The Moon rules the night, sleep and dreams, the inner sight, the home, and every road by night or over water. Her day is Monday. Her colours are violet and silver, her metal silver; the Key of Solomon gives her silver, "or the colour of argentine earth". Her incense is jasmine and camphor; the Heptameron makes aloes the perfume of Monday. Agrippa gives her the magic square of nine, with Malcha betharsithim hed beruah schehalim as the intelligence of her intelligences and Hasmodai as her spirit, and writes that her table, engraved on silver when she is fortunate, makes its bearer pleasant and well received, gives security on a journey, and drives evil things away from any place you choose. The Heptameron names Gabriel as the angel of her day, and the Arbatel names Phul, who "governeth Lunary things". The divine name of her sphere is Shaddai El Chai, the Almighty Living God.
The Key of Solomon gives her days and hours to "embassies; voyages; envoys; messages; navigation; reconciliation; love". These operations work that list and her other kingdom, the night. On the station they run slowest of all: frequencies of one or less for sleep, violet and silver frames, the element of Water, and pre-hypnosis for nearly everything, because the Moon speaks to the part of the mind that dreams. Her number is nine: vibrate her name nine times, and count her operations in nines of nights.
Begin in an hour of the Moon. On a Monday the first hour after sunrise is hers, and so is the third hour of the night, the best for work done while someone sleeps. Increase while she waxes; send away while she wanes. Keep a notebook by the bed: the Moon answers in dreams, and dreams fade by breakfast.
